Yesterday, a “celebration” was held by the Shurak Maleki religious school, located 60 km from Mashhad, entitled “Quran Recitation Celebration” and was attended by a group of Sunni people and clerics from Khorasan Province.

Molavi Ibrahim Fazeli, the head of Taybad School of Religious Studies, and Molavi Abdul Majid Moradzehi Khashi, on behalf of Molavi Abdul Hamid, participated in the meeting and spoke on “unity.”

“Prior to the meeting, Ministry of Intelligence agents had asked Molavi Moradzehi and Molavi Fazeli not to attend the meeting, otherwise they would be summoned to a special court for the clergy, but they attended the meeting because there was no legal ban on attending.”

Every year during the month of Ramadan and the celebration of reciting the Qur’an in the Taraweeh prayer, special celebrations are held in the Sunni areas of Baluchistan, Khorasan, Kurdistan, and Golestan.
