On Novemeber 27, 2018, Molavi Jamal Zehi, the Sunni Friday Imam of Reza Abad Khan Babin, was shot dead by unknown individuals in Ramyan, Golestan Province, after performing morning prayers.

Suleiman Gargij, a resident of Khan Babin, said: “Molavi was repeatedly threatened and interrogated by security agencies. He was one of the opponents of the IRGC’s plan to arm the Baloch people in Golestan province. “So it is unlikely that this murder was politically motivated.”
