Hafez “Zahir Khomr”, a teacher at the “Somayeh” School of Religious Sciences in Zahedan and the brother of Hafez Omar Khomr, a famous Sunni poet and singer from Balochistan, was assassinated by gunmen.

At around 10, several unknown individuals in a Peugeot car attacked Hafez Zahir Khomr on Farhad Street in Zahedan and shot at him. He was shot in the head and died on the spot.

The attackers then stole Zahir Hafez’s car.

The motives for the murder are unknown.
