If this sentence is upheld on appeal, Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code will impose a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison on charges of “forming a group with the intent to disrupt national security.”
Hamed Ali Meshkooh, 36, is a Sunni citizen living in Urmia.
