Deprivation of Sunni prisoners from holding congregational prayers in Zabul and Sirjan prisons*

Location ON Map

Sunni prisoners in Zabul and Sirjan prisons have been barred from holding congregational prayers.

These detentions were imposed by prison and security officials to put pressure on these prisoners.

In recent days, the head of Zabul prison, Mohammad Naroui, and the head of security at Gelavi prison have prevented the congregational prayers of Sunni prisoners in Zabul from being held and have “harshly treated” Sunni worshipers.

In a similar report from Sirjan Prison, authorities barred Sunni prisoners from holding congregational prayers despite repeated requests.
