Molana Mohammad Hussein Gargij said, “It does not make sense to prevent Sunni scholars from traveling abroad.”

He strongly criticized the imposition of some restrictions on the participation of Sunni scholars in extra-provincial conferences.

He stressed the need for meritocracy and the protection of freedom of expression, saying ” the country’s tribes, various Islamic denominations, including Sunnis and religions such as Zoroastrians, Jews and Christians have expectations of you (Dr. Rouhani) that must be met.”

The prominent Sunni scholar said: “We do not want our country to suffer the fate of Syria and Iraq and for Shiites and Sunnis to quarrel. Therefore, we called on the people to participate widely in the elections. We will not take our rights by bullets, but by pen and discourse.”
