Evin prison officials transferred Behnam Mahjobi, a Gonabadi Dervish, to a psychiatric hospital in Tehran. They had told him that he will be taken to a general hospital. In 2018, Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment on the charge of “congregation and collusion with intent to disrupt the national security.” In 2019, he was transferred to Evin prison to serve his sentence. Some reports indicate that prison officials had deprived Mahjobi of the medication that he needed. According to his wife, he has become half-paralyzed due to this deprivation, and then was transferred to a psychiatric hospital. After he started a hunger strike, he was returned to Evin Prison.
