Mohammad-Amin Baloch Zehi and Abdulrahim Koohi, two Sunni clerics sentenced to death in Zahedan prison, were sent back to the public ward following postponement of their execution. They had already contacted their families to ask them to visit Zahedan prison for their final visit. Baloch Zehi and Koohi, who used to teach in a religious school in Sarbaz city in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, were charged with moharebeh [waging war against God] and cooperation with opposition groups. They were sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment and death. The Iranian judicial authorities have refused their requests for retrial. According to some reports, the authorities have asked the families of these two Baluchi prisoners to hand over their relatives, who are opposition activists, in return for the lives of Mohammad-Amin Baloch Zehi and Abdulrahim Koohi.
